Before we describe the particulars of the Turbo Series in any more detail, it's important to note that all gameplay at CoinPoker is conducted in the cryptocurrency Tether (₮). Thus, when we talk about $100,000 guaranteed, we really mean ₮100,000. However, this distinction isn't as important as one might think because the value of Tether is tied to that of the U.S. dollar such that ₮1 = $1.

You can fund your account and request withdrawals via a number of crypto-currencies, like Tether, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. If you opt to use one other than Tether, then the funds will be transformed to and from Tether at market rates.

CoinPoker also has a proprietary crypto coin called CHP. It's not necessary to hold any of this digital asset in order to play; however, maintaining a CHP balance unlocks certain perks, like 33% weekly rakeback.

Turbo Series Information

Buyins for the Turbo Series range from ₮5 to ₮500 with guarantees starting at ₮400 and climbing to ₮35,000. The first three days of the series, June 10 – 12, each feature three tournaments while the next three days, June 13 – 15, will see four events per day run. The final day of the Turbo Series on June 16 boasts five tournaments.

The first tournament of each day begins at 5:00 p.m. GMT (1:00 p.m. ET). The timing of the last tourney on any given day varies but is no later than 7:30 p.m. GMT (3:30 p.m. ET).

With every MTT being an NL Hold'em contest with turbo or hyper-turbo blind structure, the variety of games present is somewhat limited. Still, differences in starting stack size and the presence of several progressive knockout events do inject some variety into the proceedings.

Notable Events

Though it's certainly reasonable to play every tournament on the roster because there are only 26 of them, you still might not be available to play every day. If you're looking to participate in the CoinPoker Turbo Series for just a single day, then the final day on Sunday, June 16 is definitely the one to pick. It has the single priciest tournament in the lineup, the ₮500 Main Event, and contains more than half of the entire series' guaranteed prize money.

The June 16 tournaments are as follows:

  • 1 p.m. ET, ₮5 TurboSeries #22 Megastack, ₮1,000 GTD
  • 1:05 pm. ET, ₮10 TurboSeries #23 Mini Main Event, ₮3,000 GTD
  • 2:00 p.m. ET, ₮50 TurboSeries #24 Big Fifty, ₮10,000 GTD
  • 2:05 p.m. ET, ₮100 TurboSeries #25 MegaStack, ₮15,000 GTD
  • 3:30 p.m. ET, ₮500 TurboSeries #26 Main Event, ₮35,000 GTD

Added Value

Beyond just the guaranteed prize pools, there's a bit of extra value to be had in the CoinPoker Turbo Series.

The first comes from the random prize draws. Each tournament will pay out, in addition to the normal prize money, a ticket to the upcoming Summer Showdown Series. The winner is determined by random drawing of all entrants in a particular Turbo Series event, and the value of the entry is the same as the tournament in which it was won.

Next is the leaderboard, the top four players of which will each collect a ₮500 Summer Showdown Series ticket. Fifth and Sixth places are good for ₮200 tickets apiece while sixth through tenth will receive ₮150 tickets. Leaderboard points are determined by the following formula: Log (Prize Pool)/(Square Root of (Finishing Position/Number of Entrants)).

Finally, there are numerous freerolls every day that award entries into Turbo Series events. CoinPoker says that there's $3,000 worth of seats up for grabs in these freerolls.

Monthly Tournament Leaderboards

Besides the special Turbo Series leaderboard, CoinPoker also runs a regular monthly tournament leaderboard. Although it will be harder to secure a high position on this leaderboard because of the larger number of competitors, the prizes available are considerably greater with a total of over $15,000 in cash and tournament tickets available.

The first-place finisher every month gets ₮1,000 cash, three separate ₮200 tournament tickets to use on whatever matching MTTs he or she wishes, and a ₮500 Summer Showdown Main Event seat. Even 10th place gets ₮50 along with a ₮200 ticket, and the prize payouts extend down to 150th place, which is worth a ₮5 ticket.

Points for the monthly tourney leaderboard are awarded according to a different formula than the Summer Series leaderboard. The relevant calculation is:

10 * (SQRT(Number of Players)/SQRT(Place)) * (1 + LOG (Buyin + 0.25))

Players who pay the tournament fees with the in-house CHP crypto asset will see a 50% boost to their monthly leaderboard points, and those who register for a tournament before it begins will get a 10% points bonus.

Play in the Turbo Series events while using CHP and registering punctually to enhance your odds of a good finishing position on both leaderboards. If the house is giving away free prizes, you owe it to yourself to do everything in your power to maximize these opportunities!
