After 36 successful years of operation a new phase beckoned for NIBL. Following Nepal Rastra Banks (NRB) policy to reduce the number of commercial banks across the country, Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mega Bank Nepal Ltd. to enter into a merger on June 10th 2022.

The Nepalese investors bought all the shares of French company i.e. 50% in 2001. It was merged with Mega Bank Nepal in 2023 and started joint operation from January 11 2023 with the name Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited.
