Stats in Demon’s Souls have both “soft” and “hard” caps. Up until the soft cap, increasing stats has a meaningful effect on your character’s strength. After the soft cap, increasing stats is less effective and generally only recommended for high Soul Level builds. “Hard” caps indicate the stat level at which adding more has no effectiveness on your character’s power. The hard cap for most stats is 99.
